ThemeBox 1.2 WordPress Theme Documentation | February 2010

Thank you for purchasing our theme ThemeBox 1.2! ThemeBox 1.2 tested all major borowsers IE6, IE7, IE8, FireFox, Safari, Opera and Chrome. ThemeBox 1.2 comes with embeded options and flexibility; 20 different color shemes, Cufon, 4 JQuery Slider , 3d Slider (Piecemaker), 7 Different page templates, 15 widgets feature and other features and much more options. Just be sure about you read all the document before you ask. Its easy to setup, follow the steps and settings below. ThemeBox 1.2 Installation, #top

First you need to upload the themebox folder into the themes folder (e.g: www.yourwebsite.com/wp-content/themes/themebox). Be sure about that, you are just uploading the theme folder, not the full pack which including the other files. Upload your theme into wp-content/themes folder, under your wordpress root directory, by using any FTP client. I suggest to you FileZillafor your upload process. If you have complete this instructions, you must give permissions (chmod 777) for cache folder in the themebox folder. All resized images will be comes in this folder.

After you uploaded the theme, go to the Wordpress Admin Panel (www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin). Click on Themes menu under the "Appearance" tab. If you uploaded the theme correctly you should see ThemeBox 1.2 under the Available Themes. Click to Activate link to activate the theme. That's all, the ThemeBox theme is activated succesfully.

Sidebar Settings, #top

At this part, you can turn on /off each sidebar/widget area for your website. ThemeBox have total 15 widget area; Header Sidebar, Global Sidebar, Blog Sidebar, Page Sidebar, Widepage Sidebar #1, Widepage Sidebar #2, Portfolio Sidebar, Homepage Sidebar, Contact Sidebar, Archive Sidebar, Links Sidebar, 4 Footer Widgets. When you have select the "on" sitebars will be activated each sections, You can use them each section (e.g: When you have turn on Blog Sidebar, this widget only appear blogs section. When turn on Global sidebar, this widget appear all sections.)

You can customize and use 15 widgets in ThemeBox:

Color Style Settings, #top

ThemeBox 1.2 comes with 20 different color shemes ( default, bisque, black, chocolate, egypt, forest, fuchsia, gainsboro, gray, indigo, lavender, lime, mystique, ocean, olive, orange, peach, sky, steel and turquoise) "default" theme predefined, which can be activated at your wordpress admin panel.

Blog Settings, #top

Here you can choose from which category your Blog should be populated and on which page displayed. Also you can turn on / off; Dates, Author, Categories, Tags, Previous /Next Post Link, Addthis button and Comments:

Portfolio Settings, #top

ThemeBox comes with two portfolio templates you can use each template for different portfolio pages or presentations pages These are:

  1. Filterable Portfolio Template with Jquery
  2. Unlimited Portfolio Template with Jquery

Filterable Portfolio Template with Jquery Settings: These options control your Portfolio page. You can choose on which page of your site display the Portfolio page, from which category Portfolio should be populated, how many entries should displayed and Captions. Portfolio Filter appears automatically when you enter the tag to your portfolio posts. If your Portfolio posts don't have any tags - filter will be disabled. You can seperate portfolio posts with tags.

You must define portfolio category for each page, use custom field and create new one named "portfoliocat" (without double quotes) and enter the category id right side textarea. Portfolio categories and subcategories will be call different portfolios for you. You can turn on / off subcategories and filter options for this page.

Unlimited Portfolio Template with Jquery Settings: These options control your Unlimited Portfolio page you sould be populate category for portfolio. For the sample portfolio post you sould be enter 2 custom fields after the complete settings.

  1. Portfolio Title: Portfolio item title comes from post title. You don't need enter extra fields for this.
  2. Portfolio Subtitle: For the portfolio item subtitle you sould be define custom fields area "portfolisubtitle" (without double quotes) and enter the subtitle right side textarea.
  3. Portfolio Description: For the portfolio item description, you sould be define custom fields artea "portfoliodesc" (without double quotes) and enter the subtitle right side textarea.
  4. Portfolio Image: For the portfolio image, you don't need any extra fields. When you have add new images from editors uploader and enter the content, images automatically resized and appear in portfolio section. (ThemeBox portfolio section use thimbthum.php and this section get first image from content automatically. Then images will be appear in the portfolio section automatically.)
  5. Page Numbers: When you have set the displayed items settings, page numbers automatically appear in portfolio. You don't need any extra effort or plugin for this.
  6. Colors and Background Colors: You can define colors with colorbox in ThemeBox. ThemeBox comes with colorpicker at the theme settings. You don't need any colorpicker and programs for the color. Click to textfield area wich you want to change, colorpicker will be appear automatically, then select your color. Thats All.

Menu Settings, #top

ThemeBox 1.2 comes with two menu options. You can change menu style, exclude from menu for navigation in this section:

  1. ThemeBox Classic Menu
  2. ThemeBox Dropdown Menu

Header Settings, #top

You can use, change and turn on/off path viewer, header banner, logo or blog name in this section. If you want use widget at the header you must turn on header widget at the Sidebar Settings.

Contact Page Settings, #top

Here you can choose the page to display the contact form. Also, you can redefine your contact page header, email address, phone, fax, and google maps. You can change this default predefined informations from your website.

Cufon Settings, #top

ThemeBox comes with cufon support and 16 different font options. Cufon is fast text replacement with canvas and VML - no flash or images required. You can turn on /of cufon support and select predefined fonts at this part.

Slider Settings, #top

ThemeBox 1.2 comes with 5 slider and options. You can select / change slider settings anytime and online from theme settings section. These are:

  1. General Slider Settings
  2. 3D Slider

General Slider Settings: You can change settings. You need two custom field name for the slider images and slider contents.

  1. sliderimg - For example: when you add new post from admin panel you can see the "Custom Field" area, you must define new custom field to "Enter New link and define "sliderimg" (without double quotes) and enter the image url right textarea. ThemeBox have thimtumb.php (Automatic image resizer script) and thimbthumb automatically resize your images to you have defined images size from Slider Image Width and Height. No need to resize any images with ThemeBox.
  2. slidercontent - You must define "slidercontent" same way. Click to the new custom field and define "slidercontent" (without double quotes) and enter the content right side textarea.

3D Slider Settings: ThemeBox comes with 3D slider and predefined settings. When you have add a new post and upload images via uploader from admin panel, this images automatically appear in 3D slider. Only you must define 3D slider category from settings. You can add paragraf (subtitle) in to your slider contents. If you want to add paragraf in to the slider you must write only excerpt area. Paragraf (subtitle) text appear automatically in slider.

Homepage Content Settings, #top

ThemeBox 1.2 homepage comes with many useful addons. You can add twitterbox , feedburnerbox, videobox, last posts boxes with excerpt and content words lenght and you can select two different layout style in this section. You can change all homepage contents, turn on / off in this section. If you want to change homepage icons you can find them images/home folder.

Also you can select very customizable 2 layout options. When you select layout options; you can use video box, feedburner subscribe box, twitter box and latest news box on the homepage layouts. Also you can deactivate and activate them.

Testimonial Settings, #top

Testimonials appear between top homepage boxes and bottom homepage boxes contents. You can change Testimonials content, activate or deactivate testimonials part in this section.

Footer Settings, #top

First row contains the columns which are extremely flexible: you can change the content dynamically via widgets (wp-admin/widgets.php). For each footer column you have a separate widgetbar named like Footer Column 1 [2,3,4]. When you activate "Footer Sidebars" this part appear automatically at the footer. If you don't want all footer area you can turn off this part.

Second row contains the Copyright area and you can put footer copyright informations and other infos.

About Me Settings, #top

At this part you can change the About me area above the footer. You can turn on / off "About Me" content part in this section.

Ads Settings, #top

When you have turn on the ads in ads options, Your ads will be appear archive.php (Archives Section) and single.php (Single Post Section). If you want to use Ads these sections you can paste your ads code here and turn on this option.

Stat Settings, #top

You can use any stats code here. (Google Analytics, Stat Counter or any other stat code) When you have put stat code here, stat code will be appear your website.

Social Settings, #top

At this part you can use social infos here. You sould be change or enter your delicious, digg, facebook, facebook, flickr, linkedin, myspace, reddit, rss, stumble, technorati, tumblr, twitter, vimeo and youtube informations. If you don't want to appear social icons you can turn on/ off them this section.

SEO Settings, #top

ThemeBox 1.2 present meta description and keywords settings to you. You can enter or change your meta desc and keywords this section anytime.

CSS Structure, #top

ThemeBox 1.2 css structure can be edit basically. You can find all css structure in style.css. ThemeBox 1.2 using 1 main CSS file in - style.css (root directory), and 20 support stylesheets in css directory and one stylesheet for each theme inside directories with navigation images.

Javascript Files, #top

ThemeBox 1.2 using several Javascript files:

1) jquery.js | The main jQuery condensed script.
2) pretty.photo.js | The jQuery script that drives the image lightbox.
3) dd_belated_png.js | A PNG IE6 fix script.
4) twitter.js | Twitter update script.
5) cufon-yui.js  - Myriad_Pro.font.js | Cufon font replacement script.
6) themebox.js | The main js file.
7) s3Slider.js | Content slider script.

For these script, we're stuck to conventional implementation, so if you run into problems trying to customize them, the support information should be readily available on those sites.

Fonts, #top

ThemeBox 1.2 using font: 12px 'Lucida Sans Unicode', Arial, sans-serif; If you don't have any of these fonts on your machine, "Arial" will appear nicely.

Adding Content, #top

Posts & Pages & Template Usage

This works normal for posts and pages, only the Portfolio posts might need some introduction. When heading over to a post you will notice the option panel below the textarea:

When creating a post for your Portfolio page - upload an image of your choice and enter the FULL url of the image into the appropriate Boxes.

If you want to create Lightbox Gallery for the one item please check appropriate checkbox.

Then click on the Add an Image button and upload your images.

Additionally, if you want, you can insert these pictures inside of your post.

The last thing is Excerpt for Portfolio item description:

The More Button

To display the "Keep Reading…" link you have to manually cut posts or pages into two parts, this is done with the "Insert More tag" button in the Wordpress:
